Successfully completing our Florida online traffic school basic driver improvement online course will allow you to dismiss your traffic ticket and keep your official Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) Driver Record clean.

A traffic violation on your official Florida Driver Record can lead to a suspended license and auto insurance rate increases. Completing our Florida online traffic school basic driver improvement course can help keep your official Florida Driver Record clean and insurance rates low. Upon successful completion of our Florida online traffic school basic driver improvement course, no points will be charged to your driver record, adjudication of guilt is withheld and your safe driver status is maintained.
Select municipal court judges and justices of the peace require you to contact the court before you take our Florida online traffic school basic driver improvement course for purposes of ticket dismissal. By contacting the court that is indicated on your traffic ticket, you may prevent delays or added expenses.
Florida state law allows you to dismiss one (1) traffic ticket per year (certain restrictions apply) by taking a Florida basic driver improvement class.
Your Florida basic driver improvement online course completion certificate will dismiss one (1) traffic violation, and the online traffic school course must be taken after the violation.
If you take our Florida basic driver improvement online course purely for education or to receive an auto insurance discount and later you receive a traffic ticket, you are permitted to take another Florida online traffic school basic driver improvement course to dismiss the traffic ticket if you haven't done so within the last twelve (12) months.
We recommend that you complete our Florida online traffic school basic driver improvement course at least three to four (3-4) days before your completion due date (if you have one). It is recommended that you either hand deliver your Florida online traffic school basic driver improvement course completion certificate to the court, or that you send it to the court via certified mail to ensure it arrives by your completion due date.
Note: you are responsible for ensuring your Florida online traffic school basic driver improvement course completion certificate reaches the court by your completion due date. Florida BDI Online Traffic School is not permitted to mail the completion certificate to the court on your behalf.
If you were a driver in a crash and are found at fault and someone was transported to the hospital or you had two crashes in a two-year period, which resulted in property damage greater than $50, the state will require you to complete our Florida online traffic school basic driver improvement course.
